JOHN JIMIN lives off-grid in the Sierra Nevada wilderness with his wife and children, working with trees, words, and images. His work bridges Orthodox faith, restoration ecology, confessional literature, and visual theory — seeking renewal in both the landscape and the soul.He is the creator of Sakunamu, Scarlight, and Soulstead — three expressions of one vision: to rebuild the bond between man, creation, and the divine. Through forestcraft and off-grid homesteading, he restores the land; through writing and hunting, he searches for spiritual clarity; and through wilderness education, he helps families rediscover purpose and resilience.Rooted in both Korean heritage and Orthodox tradition, John’s journey moves between silence and speech, prayer and labor, wilderness and hearth. Each project is a testament to his belief that creation itself is a living icon — and that tending to it, with hands or with words, is an act of worship.
